'Choir no. 80, Bukit Batok Secondary School, SILVER.' upon hearing this, many of us at the VCH appluaded... it was a relief, but i believed we shod get a GOLD thou. SCGS got GOLD, CHIJ KATONG GIRL'S got GOLD WITH HONOURS. wow~ well the race has ended, we did our very best. & this was the least we expected. we retain a SILVER. & got a GOLD on national standard... SILVER on an International Level... that's wat i think, dont ur agree?? good luck to all on the upcoming SA1!!!
Tomorrow will be our Final Lap!! Our big day!! Do your best, don't waste the time and efforts you have put in, give in your best, smile, feel the music and lastly enjoy! If you guys don't know,i feel really nervous that i even thought today is SYF ^^'''.And my apologies for Saturday's dancing song, the songs saps my energy so couldn't manage squeak out the last note. Anyway, do your best tomorrow!!
Hey people! I realise we sound different compared to other choirs in "Everyone Sang". Just to let you guys know that we're unique! Note: Different dosent mean we're correct or the other choirs are wrong!! "And" pronounced as "und" "tears" prounced as "teeeeeers"
Remember the endings that ends with "N", like "sun" or "done", get the "N" sound out!! Myself, Belinda and Liling has decided to make the action slightly bigger and keep our mouth open so that the sound can travel out. And during the ending of each song, show that you relax once Miss Yee puts down her hand. There must be a different posture when you sing and stand normally. Remember guys, PRESENTATION! So, SMILEEE!!
DEDICATING TO ALL CHOIR MEMBERS. BE HAPPY. BE CONFIDENT. THAT'S ALL WE NEED. THAT'S ALL IT TAKES TO CLEAR OUR PATH. WE SHALL SHOW ALL WHAT IT TAKES TO BE PART OF CHOIR!!!

Hello there! I wonder how many people will read it but nevermind, I'll just post. Maybe in the conforts of your own home, you are able to catch this more better with concentration. Haaaah!
Anyway, THE DAY is coming! Do you feel the stress coming in? If you feel it, GOOD! Means that BBSS Choir means a lot for you! I know it's hard for you guys to be soooo passionate for choir. But I hope you have learnt a lot from choir and will be able to put the skills to good use when you grow older.
Bossy and domainering(sp) I may be, I want you to do the following: ENJOYYY PERFORMING!!! Think that you're a music freak and feel for the song and flow together with the music. And also SMILE! Show the judges that you love performing in front of them! Pretend that you're being video recorded and it will be broadcasted internationally.
Everyone Sang: Let's just say you finished the SYF competition and now you're FREE!! You used to be stucked inside the music room(with 2 aircons spoilt) and being tortured by the leaders. But as you sing the song, you're now free to go and do whatever you want! Like a bird and can fly away and eat anything(spicy/fried food) you want. Hope you all get my point.
IkanKekek: Pretend you're in some Malay country swimming with the fish. Imagine those wooden houses and people who live in rural areas who only know how to eat fish.
Dancing song: Now you're in the times where people wear those big dresses with big hairdo. Girls gossiping in their changing room about the Maygers. Whispering and laughing about them. Like high class people mocking at the poor people. The part"Go on dancing!"(Presto) is like trying to challenging them to dance better than them.
SOMETHING LIKE THAT LAH! USE YOUR IMAGINATION!!! You all already say what you all aspire to get what award so, GO FOR IT!!!! Make the choir teachers and Miss Yee, Mrs Kee ALL PROUD OF YOU!!! JIA YOU!!!
Pray and believe(regardless of what religion) that the person up there will bless us! JIAYOU BBSS CHOIR! :DDDDDDD Now matter what we get, your advisor will still be proud of every single one of you :DD
1) From today onwards , try not to take spicy food and fried/oily food, it harms your throat unless you take chili everyday and it doesn't kill you.I don't want to hear people saying " so and so went to KFC/Mac just now..."If you went out of tune, you will effect others not only yourself.
2) Drink lots of water, keep your vocal chords hydrated along with the rest of the body.
3) taken from http://www.idoldreams.com/singers-protect-your-a39.html , Don't clear your throat. Throat clearing is a big no-no. When you clear your throat it causes your vocal cords to hit each other. All this does is cause irritation and damage. If you feel yourself wanting to clear your throat try taking a deep breath and yawn. The breath pushes air over the vocal cords and yawning can break up tension within the cords. If the need to clear does not completely disappear, it will at least lessen until you are able to take a drink of water.
4) Don't waste your warm ups, don't talk after warm ups.
5)Sway along with the music, think of the lyrics, enjoy the music. :))
6)SMILE, is not sad song okkay? if you enjoy and think of the song, smiling comes naturally. No one is going to make you smile on stage.
7) Always stay focus, look at ms Yee when she's conducting.
8)walk up the stage with confidence, (Girls)hold your skirts with your fingers with your right hand, so you will not trip and fall and embarrassed yourself. :p
9)Remember the tempo , beat and the dynamics.Rmb which part should be louder and softer.
10) Listen to other parts as well, so you will not get out of tune and go your own way and get lost in the middle of the song.
11)Don't compete against other groups and overpower other groups.Or they will not be heard.
Dear choir, you should know what to do :)) Take care of your health, eat fruits(got vitamins) drink lots of water.Don't fall sick :p Beware: i look at people's blog Muahaha :p SYF 12 more days, the pressure is on :))
Attire for Tuesday's VCH rehearsal(10/4) will be full dress, so bring yours shoes :) Saturday(7/4) will be 9am, please be punctual.17 more days to SYF, work hard choir :))
