Dear all,
Heres an update on the BBQ we are having on tuesday,23 dec 2008.
venue: Regent Heights Condominium
meeting place and time: 3.30pm at Bukit Batok int (plz do not be late tq =])
Those coming for the BBQ and attending choir practice on tues plz bring $10 for the food during practice.
Those who are unable to attend practice will have to pay the $10 during the BBQ itself. Thank You!
Also, remember that choir practice on tuesday,23 dec will be from 9am-11am. Do not oversleep XD.

dear all
this week is world youth choral festival. there are choir concerts almost every night from 10-12dec, and matinee on 13 Dec
Ms Yee recommend us to go to
10 dec: if u wanna watch overseas choirs and give u some idea of really good international choirs
11 dec: if u wanna watch local sec and pri sch choirs
12 dec: jc choirs and some top vocal ensembles like SYC, esp if u wanna join JC choirs next time
13 dec: opening and closing ceremonies with the festival choirs, some of you are in it
tickets are $10 excl the $1 service fee. From sistic.

This is SYF Set Piece. Please try to listen to them and learn.
As there is apparently an audition. A simple one. So do learn them.
You need not memorise the words but essentially the tune is important.
The audition will be done according to sections and level.

Many people have been asking me about the choir practices dates during this month.
Practice would be on:
Every Tuesdays and Thursdays starting from 9th December, Tuesday.
9am to 12pm.
If you cannot attend any of the dates, please inform your Sectional Leaders. At least 2 days before.

rules
Objectives:
* Cultivate an interest in choral singing,
* Develop a sense of teamwork,
* Develop a sense of belonging to choir,
* Maintain an acceptable attitude of discipline,
* Develop a sense of sportsmanship
Materials:
* ONE black folder (with refillable plastic sheets)
* Pen / pencil
* Water bottle
Rules:
1. Punctuality (15 min grace): late mark in attendance
2. Music Scores (20 cents/page if lost/ forgotten to bring)
3. Attendance
All official rehearsals, including sectionals (with or without instructor's presence) are counted in attendance.
* Absence from choir: - inform Section Leader, produce excuse letter / medical certificate by the next session
* Zero mark for absence, with or without valid reason
* Above 80% attendance per year before awarded CCA points
* 100% attendance of all pre-concert or SYF rehearsals before participation in actual event is allowed
Audition:
New members:
-Under probation and in JUNIOR CHOIR in the first year, will only advance to Senior Choir the following year if performance for the whole year is satisfactory
Sec 1-3's:
- required to obtain 80% or more attendance before being allowed to audition for any performance/ SYF
- required to pass audition before performance allowed
- Sec 4-5's: need not take audition ONLY IF 80% attendance achieved
Money matters:
-Hand-phone (Fine of $5.00 if it rings during practice),
double payment for Committee member
-Choir fund
